Our Team
Little Ladybirds is a family run childcare setting, which offers something unique to the children in our care. As sisters, we share the same values and principles which we feel is important for cultivating a shared ethos in our environment. Growing up together and raising our own children has given us invaluable experience and is something that comes across strongly in our nursery setting.
Fiona Doyle
Fiona's background is in secondary education, having spent nearly a decade teaching English in a London secondary school. During that time she gained a range of experience in teaching students with Special Educational Needs and children with literacy needs. She held responsibility for whole-school literacy and also Personal, Health, Social and Citizenship Education.
Fiona has a BA(hons) English Literature, MA English Literature, Advanced Diploma in Education and a PGCE qualification in Secondary Education. She also holds an CACHE Level 3 Home-Based Childcare qualification and is halfway towards a PhD in Children's Literature. Her passion is reading and all things literature which is a strong influence in the nursery. She is mum to a nine year old girl.
Gemma Doyle
Gemma started out as a Learning Support Assistant and Learning Mentor in a secondary school before moving onto nursery education. Her work in secondary education centred mainly around children with behavioural, social and emotional issues and this is evident in her compassionate and calm nature. She has worked in a Montessori-based learning environment and so brings that valuable experience to Little Ladybirds.
Gemma is the creative one - she loves arts and crafts and has a million and one ideas for little ones to be creative and enjoy themelves while learning new skills. She always has a smile on her face and is generally considered to be the most fun out of the three!
Gemma holds a level 3 childcare qualification and is mum to an 12 year old boy.
Brenda Doyle
Brenda started out working in after school clubs in primary schools, organising holiday activities for children of primary school age and also has experience in Montessori nursery education. Brenda holds an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare.
Brenda works part time at the nursery and also runs our after school club at Martin Primary School, LBL After School Club.
Amber Earl
Amber is a full time member of staff and an extended member of the Little Ladybirds family! She holds a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification and paediatric first aid certificate. She is warm, kind, caring and fun and is much loved by all the children, staff and parents alike.
